To go beyond conventional schooling, Billabong schools across the country offer students a mix of activities around the year to sustain interest and develop every aspect of a child’s personality.
- Daily Activities
The daily schedules of the students comprise a mix of academics and extracurricular activities. The idea is to continually engage the students’ attention with a variety of different activities.
- Sports and Performing Activities
Each school offers a mix of various sports and performing activities such as:
- Speech & drama
- Swimming
- Chess
- Basket ball
- Gymnastics
- Roller skating
- Martial arts
- Cricket
- Dance
- Band
- Jazz
- Yoga
Depending on their facilities, schools may provide offer some or all of the above.
- Field Trips
These are based on the thematic volume being taught in every grade. This helps the children to take their learning beyond the classroom and observe its application in the real world.
- Culminating Activities
At the end of every academic volume, children showcase their learning through culminating activities. Parents are invited to view these programmes and gauge their child’s progress.
- Sports Day
Schools conduct an annual sports day with much fanfare and excitement. This not only gives children an arena to display their sporting talents, but also inculcates team spirit and sportsmanship. The focus is on participation and not just winning.
- Annual Concert
Every school hosts an Annual Concert at the end of each academic year. The children perform on inspirational & powerful themes which encourage self-reflection and stimulate their thought processes. It is a platform for children to showcase the various skills that are developed throughout the year such as speech and drama, jazz dance etc.
- Student Council
The Student Council is an organization of students, elected by the students, for the students. This experience provides students with the opportunity to practice leadership and citizenship. The Student Council is a forum for student expression and faculty-student interaction. It is set up at two levels – the Junior Student Council and the Senior Student Council. The student body and staff of the school elect council members.
